Olanrewaju Omiyinka, nicknamed Baba Ijesha, was granted bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties by a Special Offenses and Domestic Violence Court in Lagos’ Ikeja neighborhood.
During Omiyinka’s trial on Thursday, the court ruled that one of the sureties must be a blood relative who lives in Lagos and has a three-year tax clearance certificate. A monetary bond of N1 million must also be made to the Chief Registrar of the court.
The other surety must be a lawyer who has had his or her call to the bar validated by the court.
He has seven days to perfect his bail, but he was released today to Babatunde Ogala SAN, the head of the legal team.
The court then set the dates for the prosecution to present its case against the defendant on July 26th, 27th, and 28th.
