Chelsea FC moved into a tie for first place with Liverpool after defeating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 away from home on Saturday, with goals from Tiago Silva, Ngolo Kante, and Antonio Rudiger rounding out the thrashing.
Chelsea failed to produce a single shot on target during the first 45 minutes for the first time under Thomas Tuchel.
However, they had two goals less than 360 seconds after the break, with the exquisite Thiago Silva heading home Marcos Alonso’s corner after Hugo Lloris had parried the Spaniard’s clumsy attempt.
Tottenham was now being blown away by their opponents, despite displaying plenty of intensity in the first half, and it wasn’t long before the visitors scored the second goal.
N’Golo Kanté’s shot took a nasty deflection from Eric Dier on its way past Lloris via the post, but Tuchel’s men deserved nothing less considering their remarkable development.
With the exception of a Harry Kane shot that Arrizabalaga comfortably saved, Chelsea cruised through the game, adding a third in stoppage time when Timo Werner’s low cross was hammered in by fellow countryman Antonio Rüdiger.
