There was commotion in the world of football this weekend as FIFA and UEFA suspends the Russian Football FA from participating in European club and national competitions because of the war ongoing in Ukraine.
Well it also affected the Chelsea hierarchy as the club’s owner Roman Abramovich, who is also a Russian was sanctioned by the UK government, he gave up control over the club and handing it over to the trustees of club’s charitable foundation.

In this weekend’s action in the premier league, Southamptom registered a 2-0 win against buttom of the league Norwich.
Leeds United hosted Tottenham in the early kickoff game on Saturday afternoon, Spurs winning the game 4-0.
The result did not go well with the Leeds board after Leeds poor run of form, this resulted in the sacking of Marcelo Bielsa.

On Sunday, Westham United won Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0. The hammers are edging closer to a Champions League finish with just 2 points separating them from top 4 finish.
Game of the week featured Chelsea against Liverpool In the Carabao Cup final on Sunday at Wembley stadium, the game was filled with excitement but both team failed to find the back of the net, though goals were scored from both teams but was chopped off for offside.
The game was settled on penalties after extra time, Liverpool emerged winners from a 11-10 penalty shootout.
In the Spanish La Liga, Real Madrid won Real Vallecano 1-0 on Saturday, courtesy from a late goal from Karim Benzema. Real Madrid are 6 points clear at the top of the league.
Barcelona hosted Athletic Bilbao on Sunday at the Camp Nou, Barca were the dominant team and cruised 4-0 against their rival. Barcelona are currently in a good run of form, scoring 20 goals in their last 6 games on all competition.
In the Italian Seria A, Defending champions Inter Milan couldn’t find the back of the net against Genoa, they drew 0-0 at San Siro.
New league leaders Napoli won Lazio 2-1, they are tied on points with AC Milan who drew their game against Udinese, Juventus who are currently 4th in the league won Empoli 3-2 in a fascinating game.
