Baba Suwe, a veteran Yoruba actor, has denied rumors of his death, stating he is pained by the rumors.
On social media, the comedic actor was lately rumored to be deceased.
The actor, whose real name is Babatunde Omidina, told The Guardian that he was astonished that people were wishing him dead.
Baba Suwe, who turns 62 on Saturday, claimed he received several phone calls from family and friends in response to the rumor.
“Anyone who wants me dead should get ahead of me and wait in paradise for me. It’s quite concerning that individuals may wake up sharing incorrect information about you, particularly sensitive and malicious information. I’m alive and well; I’ll be fine, and I’m not dead. I don’t believe a dead man could be talking to you like this.”
Last year, after being transported to the United States for diabetic treatment, Baba Suwe disproved the death rumors. He received donations from Rev. Mother Esther Ajayi, a priest, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
